Hello and welcome to the new how to change your control section.

As you know FW2 is an Android application and the number and type of devices available on android is vast.
Understandably the control settings needed for a player on a 10" tablet will be different from those needed by a player on a 4½" Mobile phone.

This section I hope will help you to find the perfect settings for you and your device.

The first step is to pop into your plane and while seated comfortably on a runway somewhere
Offline or online in the friendly room is best because changing your controls whilst actually flying can probably be considered a little dangerous!

Right so first of all you will see in the top left of the screen a small settings style cog wheel.

Once you have pressed the Settings cog button it will open a sub menu with a Control [CTRL] button.

Pressing the control [CTRL] button will open a drop down column with the key control settings.

The Second button [Select Pad] will swap your control between the sensor/tilt/accelerometer option to a standard conventional thumb Pad style control.

Button 3 is [Select Real]
This will button will change depending on the control option selected to [Select Normal]
This button will swap your controls from a simplified setting as seen in all the pictures above to a more realistic and demanding set of controls allowing a player to directly control there aircrafts Rudder/ trim/ flaps and gear independently.
As seen below on the left of the screen

Next is [Control Sensitivity]

This is a very important button.... As you can imagine playing on your device whether big or small is a personal thing and how you fly, and the way you fly and like to play will change the specific aircrafts caricature.
Also the size of your device may also play a part.

Players on small mobile phones may find a high sensitivity difficult to manage as the movements on a smaller device are exaggerated. Where a player on a large tablet may not be capable of spinning such a large heavy device around the room, so a higher sensitivity allowing smaller movements may be needed.

These are your control sensevtivity settings
(Well technically they are my settings for the Seafire but as an example they are in the place your own settings will be... However feel free to try my settings if like)

Its at this point I explain that each aircraft you have available in your hanger has been specially coded into the game to be as realistic as possible and each have there own caricature and will need there own settings.
Heavy planes like the FW 190 will react differently to the settings needed for a delicate and fast responder like the Spitfires or Bf109's

Y = Yaw
Yaw is the drift from left to right created by the rudder. When in real mode a higher Yaw setting will increase the speed your aircraft reacts to rudder inputs while a lower setting may also be desired depending on your own personal preference.

P = Pitch
Pitch is what makes your aircraft go up and down in response to the elevator.
It is also what make those tight turns possible.
However to much and you may snap roll out of a turn uncontrollably so be carfull to not set this to high
If you do snap roll unintentionally reducing Pitch can often help.

R = Roll
Roll is very important when flying a plane as it's what allows you to make those tight turns and fast manoeuvres
Having a high, fast roll rate will help in a tight situation giving you fast reactions and instant reflexive movements.
Some aircraft those with short stubby wings like the BF109, Seafire, Fw190 have a natural fast roll rate because of there design, but other aircraft like the Spitfires have a slower natural rate of roll that can be increased or decreased with the use of the sensitivity settings.
And once again as you can imagine the size of your device can make a big difference with exaggerated movements on smaller devices that are harder to perform on bigger and heavier tablets.
However if you set it to high you may find it makes you unstable in hour aircraft and you may roll to far in turns and increase the chance of dropping out of a turn unintentionally when making evasive or offensive manoeuvres.
So its important to take you're time as getting this setting right for each aircraft can mean be the difference between the perfect settings and an uncontrollable aircraft.

Sluggish controls or unstable flight?

In a recent update new Control stick dampening, Exponential Roll and Pitch commands have been implemented.
This is to help stabilise some players and device controls and is widely considered
An improvement in overall control stability.

However there are some players who may find these controls sluggish.... Or even the complete opposite and find the controls difficult to manage with control stick inputs to responsive making the aircraft difficult to fly.
But all controls can be changed to suit each individual player and device.

Step One
First press the in game settings/Menu cog wheel bellow

Followed by the Main in game menu.

Finally we enter into the command section.

There are many commands available for FW2 players and a full list will be posted at the bottom of this thread
But for now the 3 important commands are the control commands.

Stick Dampening
/STICKMD 0 (Off)
/STICKMD 1 (On)

Experiential Roll
/STICKMR 0 (Off)
/STICKMR 1 (On)

Experiential Pitch
/STICKMP 0 (Off)
/STICKMP 1 (On)

You will notice all commands Begin with a forwards slash [/] and have a Space between the command and the corresponding number for On/Off this space is very important so please do not forget it as the command will not work without it.

But again as in all the above deciding whether you preferre to have the commands active or not is a matter for personal taste flying style and your device.
While we will all try to help with suggested settings only you can fly the aircraft.
